Rapid Prototyping Now Offered

Arnold Magnetic Technologies, global manufacturer of rare earth magnets, magnetic assemblies, and precision thin metals, has opened a research and development facility inside the MGE Innovation Center complex in Madison, WI. Arnold’s state of the art Technology Center enables the company to focus on engineering solutions together with our Customers by offering rapid prototyping of permanent magnet, electromagnetic, thin metals, and a variety of engineered assemblies. Along with physical prototyping, the center also engages upstream with product design and optimization for maximum power density along with a variety of testing services to validate those designs.

Engineering Solutions Together

Technology Center engineers work with our Customers to develop cutting-edge materials, validate new designs, and facilitate a design’s innovation from prototype to production. This new facility and staff is part of Arnold’s commitment to strengthen our role as an industry leader in permanent magnetics, electromagnetics, and thin metals technologies. Arnold was first to introduce RECOMA® 35E, the strongest samarium cobalt magnet in the world, which has enabled major advances in high-performance motors for the aerospace/defense and motorsport industries.

University Partnerships

The Madison location was selected in part because of our strong partnership and participation with the University of Wisconsin Electric Motors and Power Electronics Consortium (WEMPEC). Arnold will continue to support and strengthen relationships with universities around the world with local engineering connections as well as the Technology Center staff, including the University of Aalen, the Swiss Federal Technical institute in Zurich, the University of Nottingham, and a program for which we sponsored a PhD student at the University of Birmingham.

One World Class Team

The Technology Center is Arnold’s tenth business unit, which will spearhead innovation for our other manufacturing facilities. Each business unit works alongside the Technology Center as a Team in order to drive value added, engineered solutions growth with Arnold’s current and future Customer base. The Technology Center will ensure many more power dense enabling technologies to come.
